This enlightening computer software has the complete text of Tafsir Ibn Kathir in Arabic and English (switch able) on one CD for the first time! The whole 10 volumes of Tasir Ibn Kathir (abridged) has been put on one CD with one easy to use interface. It also includes the whole Quran text with recitation by Imam-e-Kaba As-Shuraim. The translation the shown for each verse that is recited while the Arabic text of the Quran is underlined.

Patch for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)

If you get an error message "Error Z0001: Internal error" when you try to run the software (after successful installation) then you need to install the patch below.

1. Download the ArissPatch-1.zip file to your desktop or just click 'Open'.
2. Unzip the file and run the ArissPatch.exe program.
3. An open dialog will show. Go to the folder where you have installed the program and select the file in Kathir.QZ_ file. If it was installed in the default folder then just Copy the following line:
   C:\Program Files\Ariss\Islamic\Holy Quran-Tafsir Ibn Kathir\Kathir.QZ_
   and Paste it in the File Name: field and click Open.
4. You should then get a message box saying 'Patching Complete'.
5. Click OK and run the software as normal (from Start > All Programs > Ariss - Islamic Programs folder or just reinsert the CD and you will get a dialogue box on which you can click Run).

If the software still does not run and doesn't give any error message, then you need to follow the instructions below:

1. Click 'Start' --> 'Control Panel' --> 'Add or Remove Programs'
2. Checkmark the box next to 'Show updates' on the top right of the dialog box.
3. Next scroll down and find and click on the item 'Security Update for Windows XP (KB917422)' - Try to search by the end #422 and then confirm the rest of the #s.
4. Click 'Remove' and follow the directions to remove it completely. You will need to restart once it is done uninstalling.
5. After restarting the computer the software should start working as normal.
6. IMPORTANT: You will need to stop Windows Automatic Update from installing this Update again or this problem will comeback. You can go to 'System Properties' from the Control Panel and then to the 'Automatic Updates' tab.
7. To be on safe side you can select 'Turn off Automatic Updates' or select the options above them but when it is time to update you can exclude this update from installing again.
